Articles About Entertaiment

Entertaining is a central activity of human existence. It teaches children (through play with dolls, pets or group games) about adult activities, such as watching performances; prepares them for the responsibilities of parenthood and marriage through romantic role playing; develops skills needed in many art forms, such as music or sports (through motor skill practice); and provides an agreeable occupation for the mind (by solving crossword puzzles or reading a book). One of the most famous stories in the professional storytelling tradition is Scheherazade, the woman who saved her own life by telling tales. This story inspired a number of musical works by composers like Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski; a film by Pasolini; and an innovative video game.
